Making It Possible to do My Own Tax Returns

I was not thrilled with the new way in which income interest, dividends and capital gains were grouped together in the step-by-step process this year. Especially with imported data, it made it difficult at times to find the exact for to work on. Also, the Form 1116 for foreign tax credit does not always populate correctly and often has to be manually entered under Forms. The rest of the TurboTax Premier program was excellent.

Overall, Turbo Tax is excellent product. There are times, though, when forms not needed for my return are included. This year and last year there was a form UE that was included and I did not notice that there was a box to exclude the form until after i spent time (very little), reading through the document. That is minor, and I really have no complaints.

It takes you through the process step by step and makes sure it covers all.
I really love the feature of downloading the W2 and 1099 forms directly which saves a ton of time and make sure the numbers are correct.
Overall it took the same time I can spend with a tax advisor, but with a much lower cost and in a comfort of home.

What did you do to Turbotax 2024? I've been using TurboTax for the last 19 years. Have never had the problems like I did this year, from downloading taking at least an hour, to now going back and seeing after filing that it makes me go through and answer the PA state questions again it had the wrong information....I had to update the answer and save the docs again. Not sure what 2025 will hold for using Turbo tax again. Very, very disappointed.

I have used Turbo Tax for the last 20 years, plus or minus. Have never been audited, or concerns over its accuracy. Love the program, but wished I could still get it in CD
