TurboTax: great program, becoming < user-friendly

1. The tax expert help (an extra $50 fee) was worth it and they are truly very good at what they do. They stick with you till they are sure that you do not need their help anymore. Most of them aware of the software glitches in this year's version. Well worth the fee. 2. The TurboTax desktop program is not as user-friendly as it used to be: It is written for a tax auditor to review, similar to reviewing an IRS spreadsheet. It used to be very user-friendly with question and available information on every line available if needed within the program and written for an everyday person to use without being a CPA. I have used TurboTax for multiple decades, and this is becoming more and more apparent every year. Although I have stuck with Intuit's TT, I have considered using other programs for the last two years because of the lack of user friendly entry explanations. LOL: they need an apple/iPhone advisor to help them make the program more user-friendly. It also no longer has all the forms: some of them are only available to download as a document that you must attach or mail in separately (to the point of requiring you to mail your taxes in versus e-file if you are required to use certain forms).
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo tax is average at best

Overall program is good but in Intuit's pursuit of change, they have made the task of entering data overly cumbersome. First, I prefer to enter my information because many times it requires editing from the original form so I don't want to import. There should be an option that is easily located that turns off the "import now" question so I don't have to continually answer no. Also, this year, the task of entering 1099 data was extremely complicated. Going back and entering interest, dividends and gains could all be achieved with one form that looks just like my 1099 (as is done with W2) as opposed to the cumbersome task of entering the 1099 by section which was required this year.

Adequate, but somewhere the program entered a 2023 AGI $1,100,000 in excess of the actual. I did not enter it and prior year did not show this error.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Does not ask about service animals. I had to do a lot of research on this to figure out where to manually enter this information
