Turbotax helps me with my investments

Linking the brokerage and investment records company helps so much in completeing my taxes. I think part of the reason some people don't start investing is because they fear the complexites of completing their taxes. With TurboTax most of the major investment brokers are linked so it makes filling out that part of your taxes relatively simple.

TurboTax is Great! But they will still extort.

It feels like TurboTax is just trying to weasel money out of me. When we by the product online it claims lot of things are included, but then goes and charges filing fee and other fees that just feels like extortion.

I have been using TurboTax since 1994 (i.e. the DOS version). TurboTax continues to improve. Additional improvements: 1. Add copy text to clipboard in the worksheets. Since my income is variable each QTR I use Form 2210-AI to avoid tax penalties. Part 1 requires AGI for EACH QTR, The Part 1 line 1 support details (area 1 to 8 on Form 1040) are the same for each QTR. Copy, paste 24 lines x 4 would save time. Thanks.

No state filing instructions (unless you efile)

Overall it went like normal but when I went to file state they only give you instructions on how to efile it. I could not find mailing instructions anywhere like in the past. Even on the printout it gave instructions for efiling, not mailing it. I'm a longtime turbotax user, but I'm looking elsewhere next year.

You still don't sell the Premier product as a Federal-only product for people who live in Florida, and do not have to file a state return. I like to have the capability to deal with different investments, which is only available in Premier, but I don't need any state tax forms. Why do I have to pay for a state tax return capability that I do not need?
