Disappointed

Very disappointed that Turbo Tax and E*Trade 1099 import process require manual corrections of transactions (i.e. Written Covered Calls) with zero ACB. In my case that would be hundreds entries in need of correction.
The only reasonable option that I was able to use was to enter 1099-B Totals Summary.
Note that this option requires (USPS) mailing 1099-B after E-File acceptance, therefore E-File option does not make sense either.
Apparently Turbo Tax is recommended by E*Trade so please do not attempt to blame E*Trade for it.
Note that I have already complained to E*Trade as well.
Quick search on the internet shows that I am not the only one dissatisfied with this process, the complains about it started several years ago and are still not corrected.

TurboTax Is Amazing!

I've been using TurboTax for many years now, and it's one of my favorite products. It's been a tremendous help over the years, guiding me through the tax preparation process with plain-English questions and easy-to-understand explanations of complex topics. I don't need to know what forms to fill out, or how to navigate the many fields and calculations required by each form. TurboTax uses my answers to do all of that work for me. It's a wonderful product, and an indispensable part of my life!

State file is not free with Premier. Confusing with 1098T and other income for parents, need to make it easier to understand as a non-commerce person.

Ah, tax season—the highlight of the year, right? I mean, who doesn't love poring over W-2s and hunting for receipts from last March's dentist appointment? Enter TurboTax, the only thing that makes this thrilling annual ritual almost bearable. With its intuitive interface, step-by-step guidance, and helpful hints, it’s like having a tax-savvy best friend who doesn’t judge you for that shoebox of expense receipts.
Seriously though, TurboTax takes the sting out of this necessary evil. It’s quick, efficient, and dare I say, even a little satisfying to watch that refund calculation climb. Sure, doing taxes is still about as fun as waiting in line at the DMV, but with TurboTax, at least it feels like you’ve got VIP access. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to survive tax season with their sanity mostly intact.
