Nearly Perfect

TurboTax Premier handled nearly all my reported tax data perfectly. However, it did fall down on one thing: I received a Form 1099-DIV, with data entered in Box 9. After entering that data into Turbo Tax, it did not trigger any further requests for follow-up information, i.e.: a Form 1099-B. Even after manually initiating a 1099-B, TurboTax did not automatically segue to a needed Capital Gains Worksheet.
Perhaps, the Business version is needed to get features to handle this situation...will never know.
Still, all-in-all, a great product!

Entry Changes Suggestion

Overall, I am happy with TurboTax and have used it numerous times over the years. I did NOT like the way you presented the page to enter the -INT, -DIV entries. In the past, you presented them to edit in the same order that they were displayed the previous year. This year they were presented in alphabetical order. I don't get my documents in alphabetical order from beginning to end. Please fix it for next year or I will be using another company's software. The extra amount of time I had to use to make my entries for that part of the return was excessive and there was a greater chance of making mistakes. Not in your best interest to do it that way!!! Please feel free to contact me if you need further explanation.
Additionally, you did NOT provide a summary sheet for the Dividends as you have in the past. "Here's the dividend info we have so far" That sheet provides a great overview of what has been entered and can be used as a checklist to make sure everything has been entered!!! Again, please feel free to contact me if you need further explanation. I have screen shots.

Trying to upsell things constantly is very OFF-PUTTING!
Incredibly hard to change certain things. Roll over to Roth calculated as 6% penalty although it should have been income.

Improvement needed

When I try to fill in form 1113 for foreign tax paid. I was only asked about the foreign income but did not get asked about the foreign tax paid. If Turbo Tax already knows how much foreign tax was paid through the forms, at least it could tell the user so, or can asked the user to confirm.

I have used TurboTax for years and trust it to guide me along with "EasyStep" if needed. I also use the "Forms" window to make entries that I know, without guidance. TurboTax is foolproof and has clear Help guidance for each form as well as the Online Help Forum.
Honestly, with the complexity of the federal and state tax codes, I don't know how you do it!!!

I've been using TT since the 90's, so its familiar and has my history. It's easy to import from last year's return to the new year. I wish there was an easier way to check a running total of itemized deductions (vs standard deduction) as I enter items, so I can see if it is worth all the work to continue to itemize. Also, you need to provide the capability of doing supporting details on every entry field, especially the medical deductions. Don't make me resort to doing my own spreadsheets!
