2024 turbo tax

I do not like this years format when inputting interest and dividends. Not easy to work with. Does not follow easily. I have used turbo tax for many years. Like this version the least.

Really abysmal update functionality

I have been using TurboTax for more than 30 years. By now I have gotten to know the entry methods and processes, which are fairly intuitive and simple. So kudos for that.
But . . . this year for the first time the 'update' process was abysmal. I use Windows 10, and most times the 'update' function failed. The result is that the program becomes almost useless under this situation because it fails to open. I have learned that you have to turn automatic updates off, so that when you open TurboTax, you are prompted whether to update or not. That way, you can always choose not to update, and the program will open and you can work on your return.
When it finally comes time to file, though, you can't ignore the 'program update failure', as you cannot file unless you achieve a successful update. That requires you to uninstall TurboTax and reinstall TurboTax befoe you can make a successful update. That is totally UNACCEPTABLE, as it takes considerable time to do that, right when you want to finish in a hurry. Your software engineers should correct this issue, or you are going to lose a lot of faithful customers, such as myself.

1. It does not import the tax forms, such as 1099-X, from our financial firms.
2. For our case, we had trouble to find where to report the selling rental house income, and where to report house improvement cost for selling rental house.

Not so good way to many questions that go off in a realm of confusioon rather that being specific of the what has been provided and what are the rules of filing thus causing things omitted and some repeated twice or more deductions and credits and tax paid or tax required

Worked well and saved me a lot of time and worry. Have used it for the last 4 years and is much better than when I did it by hand and had to figure out which forms to file.
