DELAYS DUE TO FORM AVAILABILITY

Had my return prepared and ready to go on the first available filing date yet could not file due to all forms not being available. This is the second year I've experienced this issue. Others report it is not a problem with other tax software and services. Turbo Tax must ensure a complete product is available on the first filing date. Considering alternatives for next year.

Turbo Tax is Excellent....with one caveat.....

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years, and I think the product is easy to use and I have never had a return audited or rejected by the IRS or State taxing authorities. I purchased the Premier edition as I have Treasury Bond income on Form 1099-INT. My one complaint is that it is NOT easy to find where to enter the accrued interest paid in Turbo Tax. You should be prompted with a question about accrued interest paid, rather than to have to figure out that you have to uncheck the box that says " My form has info in other boxes (this is uncommon) " to find the drop down to enter the accrued interest paid so it can be excluded from the amount reported in Box 3. Please fix this issue in future releases.

I organize my tax info in an Excell spreadsheet first. This allows me to just enter necessary data and wait until all the forms arrive from varios places. Then it's fill in and file.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I moved, I bought or sold investments, I had a baby

I did use one of the tax experts, Sam, who was excellent getting my returned filed properly. He was very polite and knowledgeable and a great assest to Turbo Tax.
