Charged to file State return.

Why do I always have to pay to file a state return even though I'm told 1 state return files for free? I've used Turbo Tax for many years and have NEVER received a free filing for a state return. I always think I've done something incorrect, but can't find the error. I'd love to be reimbursed for the $$ I've spent ($25 each year) that I was told should have been free!!!

Numbers did not transfer from last year's return

Several numbers from last year's return did not transfer to this years. I had to manually input them after searching through last year's return. These should have automatically been part of the deferred passive income calculations. And I didn't want to pay to correct your mistake. I am not privy to the behind the scenes formulas used to determine these numbers. Not happy.

IL Return

On the IL State Return, while filing it treated the filing as separate returns (unlike the Federal) when we were filing jointly. Somewhat confusing.

Whoops! two issues

Two issues were troubling to me this year, one was editing cost basis on capital gains, especially stock dividends on gold and silver ETFs. Don't have much of either but 12 monthly amounts of stock dividends was a nightmare to add, I understand that I must but the editing process was very cumbersome. Another more serious issue was an ira RMD distribution for 20 thousand I had entered twice as two different distributions for the exact same amount and the review did not catch the duplicate. fortunately I did. John skalet. ps otherwise well done, I think I am on my 15th year of Turbo at least.

Once a good product, is now a terrible program

I wrote a lengthy review when I exited the Turbo Tax Program. It was no flattering. The last paragraph was a simple question; Why would I want to use this product next year? To understand how screwed up this program is; they want you to consent to their 'terms and conditions' just for filling out this review. The terms and conditions is 7 pages long.
