capital loss transfer

The capital loss from last year did not get transferred to my state form at all. I had to do it manually.

TurboTax is good

Importing 1099s from our accounts resulted in duplication of Jointly owned accounts. It was difficult to delete the duplicated files, so I deleted all and started over. I then deleted the joint accounts when importing my files and let them through when importing my spouse's accounts.
When I tried to enter information for 2025 estimated taxes, I was confused about the info that was required. It wasn't clear, I had to do it 3 or 4 times before the TurboTax result, agreed with my result. Previous experience with TaxAct wasn't as confusing.

Turbo tax still has errors

Turbo tax still has error where total allowable past real estate carry forward loss is not automatically filled out in the CA state form. One has to enter it manually or potentially miss this. I almost missed it this year. A very strange bug for a relatively simple carryover into the state form. Also, the HSA form does not have simple help explaining the difference between a family plan and individual plan. Was able to find the answers with a little research, but again, would be a simple addition to the contextual help.

TurboTax will soon not be worth the cost.

Software has gotten less and less friendly over the years. State software is horrible, you have to manually go find each and every change. If it was not for the fact I have been using this for over 20 years I would likely switch. The value for the money is becoming lower each year.
