I used TurboTax last year and not much changed this year, but I still had to answer lots of unnecessary questions. When explanations were needed, the program was short on answers. At the end, it had me print an 8453, which says I need to send an 8949. Didn't you file that with my e-filing? It looks like it was part of what was transmitted to the IRS. So, I'm left with an unanswered question.

TurboTax going down hill

This was the first time in over 30 years of using TurboTax that I have had an issue with the software.
TurboTax Premier for Mac will not print a return. I called tech support on 3/12/25 to report the issue. This needs a software fix.

Confidence using step by step and forms view

I like the fact that I can see if changes to certain numbers will affect my return, and have greater confidence that I am doing things correctly. The notes on each of the step by step process also help tremendously.
This year I had a K-1 Form from previous years that carried over that I did not need, but I was easily able to delete it from the Forms view. I also enjoy the ability to jump between the forms and the step by step.
Reduce the cost and I will like it even more.

Very good, but has some drawbacks.

Fairly good presentation and leads the user step by step, but does not allow you to copy information from another document and paste it into Turbotax. When entering the W-2Gs it does not carry the previous entry forward so you have to re-type the same information over and over again. Ironically, it keeps re-entering the wrong individuals name on a joint return.

Comprehensive easy to use product.

I've been able to use TurboTax for years and found it "user friendly". Most areas have explanations attached to aide with questions. It is "error free" in calculations best of all. If you are a novice, just read the instructions.

I think the software is really good but on some of the error message are so vague it does not give me enough information to resolve. It takes a lot of research to find the issue. I would like to see the error message to point the issues more directly.
