YOU FAILED!!!

Have used Turbo Tax for years. I buy Premier due to Rental Property. In 2024 I sold my rental property. The process of filing with Turbo Tax this year was a nightmare!! In the section..Rental Property, they ask "Did you sell this property in 2024", I checked the YES box and continued with the info for rental property. After telling me that the program would address the sale of the property "later in the filing", I never saw a single reference to the sale of the rental again. All the info was referencing the income and deductions of the rental during the year. We sold the rental in December of 2024 with rental income to that point. The program never asked again about the "SALE" of the rental. I had to research...ask questions..go online..find someone who was using Premier to see if they had resolved their problem etc. etc. This should not be a hide and seek operation!!!!!!! If I answered YES to the question "DID YOU SELL THIS RENTAL IN 2024" then the program should have addressed this directly for the purpose of Capital Gains TAX. This year I give Premier Turbo Tax a "FAILING GRADE"!!!!!!

Turbo Tax Software error regarding 1099-R

Not at all happy about having to "fudge" a data entry just to allow the Turbo Tax Software to function so that I could file the tax return, otherwise I was stuck in a constant "correct an error (that wasn't an error, but a Turbo Tax Software error) situation inhibiting moving forward with processing the filing. That error pertained with Box 14 value vs. Box 16 value on my Federal (not State!!) U.S. Military Retiree 1099-R. Box 16's value is in fact $0.00, and my voluntary State Tax funds (Box 14) was $700.00. I had to lie (twice) to state that Box 16 was equivalent to the Box 2a amount to get your error inflicted software to work, the second lie was when your software asks to confirm the values on the following screen matched the values on the 1099-R, they did not in regards to the Box 16 value. Fix this before next year or you will probably see many customers lost (based on the number of military retirees complaining about this same issue on the internet forums).

Turbo Tax 2024 - Pretty Good

With one exception the process to enter data and file the return went well and was easy.
The exception was trying to save/print a copy of my return for my records. That function didn't allow me to print a copy. Looking on line in the Turbo Tax forum, other taxpayers are having this problem and didn't find a way to do this. So I'm disappointed - will still use TT for filing in 2026.

I was not able to delete on the Capital Assets page the 3rd asset on the worksheet and had to reenter everything for 1 and 2. I was able to deleter the information for the 3rd asset but not the #3 so an error would appear for needing reviewed.
