Fix Auto Update Feature

I would have rated as 5 star, but it is such a hassle to have to update every time I call up the program to add more data. Every time I "updated" I would get an error message "Failed to install update. Microsoft installer error: 1603. Fatal error during installation." I have used TT for many many years and have loved it. Not this year. This make me want to look at switching to another tax program. Please fix this and let me know if you will look at it.

Not happy. Way to many flaws

Not good. Way too many flaws this year. I spent over 4 hours on this as I had to keep going back. At one point it said my state refund was $0. Luckily I knew that wasnt right and went back. But it was just a pain this year. If next year is the same I will not use it again. I should have listened to the negative online feedback I already read and not bought it. At 4 hours time I would have rather just paid somebody.

In retirement, I imported all 1099s and K-1s (latter, with some difficulty) so did not have to enter extensive data and avoided "fat-finger" mistakes. The software walks you through all necessary steps with simple questions and instructions. After a first (guided) pass through, I was able to go back and enter specific deductions, as well as check other entries. All in all, an excellent and straightforward product. Electronic filing every year was very efficient and simple.

Turbo Tax is Good

Turbo Tax less simple this year

This year TurboTax was more difficult to use. It seemed we got in loops trying to enter W2 and other info versus import the info. We have used Turbo Tax for over 20 years and this year was the most difficult. After paying for the program, there should not be add-ons that cost more to help solve issues.
Pros: My employment status changed this year

Imports worked poorly. That's the only reason I use this product. I will be considering other options next year.
Illinois has free efile, why pay you MORE to do that?
