When and where to do imports could be better

Still a little sketchy on the step-by-step process for when and how to import 1099R data, etc. Also, at the end of importing all data, a summary of imports comes up. Due to the uncertain import instructions, some of my imports had no data. It would have been more clear if there was a header line on the summary of imports that said something like, "If you had multiple imports of the same data, you may delete the unneeded copies here."

Premier Desktop never asked for the IRS IP PIN.

I have used Turbo Tax on my PC probably since its incarnation 30+ years ago--both business and personal versions. I always trusted the software to find or at least suggest where I may have done something incorrectly.
My 1st issue with the software occurred this year with the IP PIN. Nowhere in my completion of my return was I prompted to enter an IP PIN, either via the forms or the step by step methods of data entry!
Although the IRS claimed I needed to include it with my return, Turbo Tax never asked me for it during my use or after its reviews of my return. Of course the IRS correctly rejected my electronic filing since my return did not have it.
I was not too surprised by this IRS rejection since I had only once filed my return electronically. I was more astonished that the software never asked me for it--until I was directed back to the place where it was to be inserted AFTER the return was rejected. All this electronic back and forth should have been prevented by the software BEFORE it was submitted either on the fly or during its internal reviews of the return.
Moreover, I am even more astonished that this problem was not noted sooner than 30 days before the filing deadline and corrected in a Turbo Tax software updates.

Conversion clarification

One little clarification. I did a IRA/Roth conversion and then it asked about Roth contributions. It was not clear that a conversion is not a contribution and that it is already entered when I put it as a conversion. Otherwise, all went very good. No hassles.
