Turbo tax needs some system updates

Every time you open the program, it takes forever to update. I'm unable to save to PDF - program inexplicably locks up when trying to save.

Great experience with TurboTax over 20 years

I have used TurboTax for over 20 years. It has simplified my tax filing work significantly. The automatic carryover of previous year's information is quite useful. I highly recommend using this produc.
Having said that, I think it could be better though. Sometimes I would like to enter/update the information from the forms directly, instead of the step-by-step process. Most of the time clicking a form field will lead me to a field of a worksheet, so that I can enter the information. But that was not always the case.
I also used the Live Expert service bundled inside the Turbo Tax this year, for another $60. I had a Traditional IRA excess contribution combined with a conversion to the Roth IRA. I did not know how to 'fix' that to avoid the excess contribution penalty. I connect to the Live Expert service. The first person did not know how to solve this issue. So I connect again. The second person was knowledgeable and immediately guided me through the process, using my TurboTax shared screen. If you have some questions when filing the tax, and do not want to spend a couple hundred dolloars to hire a tax expert, I would recommend using the TurboTax Live Expert. However, I guess the experts may not know alll the complicated tax questions, and you may have to try more times to connect to the right person. Overall, my limited experience with the Live Expert service was great!

Used Turbo Tax for Decades

I've used Turbo Tax for decades as I found it was harder for me to get all the info needed by a tax preparer to do them than to do my taxes on Turbo Tax.

turbotax makes it hard to get started. it doesn't help you by reminding you which version you used last year and finding it on my computer. it doesn't automatically tell you what your options are for the current year, online or download. it should tell me what version of turbotax I used and help me import the return into the current year. the program doesn't prompt me for some information like prior year Roth conversions or Traditional IRA non-deductible basis tracking information, even though it has that information stored from prior years.
