Issue with sale of rental property

I had an issue with reporting the sale of a rental property. I bought the expert advice and got two different answers. Hopefully I used the correct one to file my taxes.

Glitches Not Encountered in Many Previous Years

Several glitches that I hadn't encountered in prior years. E.g. each time I opened the program it wanted me to start the interview at the beginning rather than where I had left off the previous session.
When I was entering dividends from 1099-div forms (the fund names were pre-entered from last year's return), I could not progress through the forms without going back to the income main screen, selelcting "dividends", then selecting the next fund form and "edit". Very frustrating and a waste of my time!

We really like using Turbo Tax.

We have been using Turbo Tax for approximately 18 years. We like the program. I only have one small suggestion regarding state returns. As it stands now, for state returns, there are two options in Turbo Tax, either e-file or e-file later. Maybe offer a third option of paper filing the state returns.

Simple & quick

For me it was quick and easy since I'm a low income person. Not complex but still made easy by passing last years info to this year. All forms required by IRS easily printed.

The new interface made it MUCH HARDER to get around and edit or check information. If I have a corrected 1099, let me get to it!

Can't Do My Returns Without TurboTAx

I have been using TurboTax to do my federal and state returns for over 30 years. It is easy to use - I could not do my own tax returns without TurboTax. I thought I caught TurboTax making a mistake with my Schedule D. So I did the painstaking analysis and guess what? Turbo Tax was right all along.
