Turbotax asks redundant info but gets the job done

I have used Turbotax since they bought out my favorite tax software -- Parsons. They have gone up and down in quality over the years. So far no problems with the IRS (that's a plus) but there are a number of glitches that can easily be fixed if you would only listen. My State taxes (for Idaho) ask for the amount I earned renting my Idaho house. This number is in my Federal return I already did in the software. It should at least grab the amount already entered and suggest it in my Idaho return! Smart, huh? I had to get out of my Idaho return and go back to my Federal return already completed and hunt the section related to my Idaho rental income and track it down! Then when reviewing my Idah return it said I neglected to check a box!! and they popped up a form I had never even been shown earlier. I checked the itty bitty box and it thanked me profusely for doing its job for it. To add insult to injury, six times I was asked or my routing and bank numbers even though it knew what they were (it hinted that it ended with 4 certain numbers). I can see the need to repeat twice to confirm you entered the correct numbers but then again for each state??! The odds of incorrectly entering go way up the more times I enter what I perceive to be a stupid request. You guys need to fire your programmer!! Anoth
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Do not like the Ideal of not having a CD. I buy for one other person and could not do it this year.

Needs work

Overall good but navigation is annoying. When you are in a section and look at a income or deduction and then exit it jumps you back to the top of income or deduction rather than the spot down the selections where you were before, making for a lot of useless scrolling. Help also needs work as many state hyperlinks were dead and didn't go anywhere.

Solid program that helps me work through taxes on my own. I save a lot of money this way.
I did have some trouble tracing down odd error references at end.

Very poor guiding customer through Foreign Income, as well as other areas. Several years ago, Turbotax had extremely clear instructions and information throughout the process. But for at least 5 years now, this customer is EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED with the quality of your product. Hire some people who can do the job better, and FIRE some managers who approve of the current product!

It was difficult to figure out what to put for the state payer's ID on a 1099-R when there had been no state withholding. This could have been explained better. Also, it was impossiible to select 01 for the expiration month of my credit card when paying the state e-filing fee.
