TurboTax is not Awesome!

I had to enter in everything 3 times before it finally got it right. It had a hard time to import my W2, and give me my federal refund. Took me way longer than it needed to. Not very inuitive, felt like a tax person programmed this thing. Not good

Decades of successful use of Turbo Tax

our taxes included partial year residence and the sale of a vacation home, a primary residence and purchase of a new home in a different state. Turbo Tax kept stating the amount due for a week long residence in the new state (MD) of over 10K, even when I changed the date of residency to Jan of 2025 and removing and reinstalling the MD tax component to see if it would go away. After a consultation with a Turbo Tax agent, it was determined that I should keep going instead of deleting the file and losing my work to that point, and starting over again. That was the right thing to do. I was eventually able to allocate income accordingly. I think that if Turbo Tax had generated a Schule A sooner, that would have helped resolve the confusion.

Turbotax 2024 user interface changes :(

I found this year's version (and 2023) to be very cluegy to work within. I do not like the interest, dividend, and stock sales section all lumped together. The screens are huge and awkward. I found it very difficult this year to find Maryland 529 deductions. It was buried in a sub-category that wasn't obvious. I had issues with importing this year. I had some stocks that imported the sales price, but only inputted zeros for the costs when they were clearly defined on the 1099's.

Turbo Tax is No Longer worht the Price

I bought Premier and it would not allow me to download my "free" state return. In addition, the program would not allow me to print my return. I also don't like the constant update each week that takes forever to complete. I have been a Turbo Tax customer for a long time. Will change software next tax season.

TurboTax simplifies and streamlines the process of preparing and filing taxes both federal and state. Couldn't imagine returning to the manual process.
