TurboTax is Usually a Good Product

I have been a user for over 20 years and this year 2024 there is a glitch in your TurboTax for Mac Premiere Advantage desktop version with respect to purchasing State and also Audit Defense which I get for free. I could only purchase State via telephone as the program would not allow me to connect to pay via the Internet and Audit Defense which is stated in the purchase line I got for FREE the program kept asking me to pay for Audit Defense and would not allow me to e-file. I spent not less than 5 hours on the phone with various reps trying to be able to e-file. When I finally deselected Audit Defense saying I did not want it (which is not true because it's free for me) I was able to go forward and e-file. PLEASE CLEAN UP THE TURBOTAX FOR MAC PREMIER DESKTOP program so this does not happen to anyone else. I should get TurboTax for free for life for the number of hours I had to spend on the phone with technicians trying to get this problem resolved.

Half Screen Option for Tax Form

We need you to provide an option to show the preparer a scrollable Half Screen view of Tax Form or work sheet being completed as the preparer enters the data/answers to the Turbotax questions... so we can see where the entries are going as well as the upper left screen corner box that shows the impact of the entry/entries - throughout the program.

TurboTax is ok.

Seems to be getting worse. The questions are sometimes ambiguous.
Also, I haven't been able to upload previous year returns for the last few years and have to input manually. WHY? This is very disappointing.

Buggy Software

I have used this product for many years. However, I had several issues using your software this year. When manually entering data for both interest income and charitable deductions, you software worked poorly. It did not update and display the information that was manually entered. Unlike other categories, it left the fields showing as blank leaving me with the impression that the data had not been processed for some reason. I then entered some of the data more than once trying to get the values to display. When I left the category and went in to another option, the data I entered had apparently been stored in memory and then finally updated the specific transaction with the total or the duplicate entries I had entered trying to get the data display. I then had to go in and delete the duplicate entries since they were clearly overstated at that point. Very annoying. I also had a problem with the state return (California). I went through all the on-line prompts for data the state schedule including the error check process and was at the point where you then move forward with filing. However, the state return amount simply showed zero. Since that was obviously wrong, I went to look at the preview of the state schedule and it said no form had been generated. I ended up saving all of data and completely exiting the program at that point. I then relaunched the TurboTax software and all of the calculations for the state return finally kicked in and created all of the applicate forms for the state return. I have never been as frustrated using your software as I was this year. I have always thought you had a good product. But if I encounter issues like this again next year, I will be looking for another option.

Fed well done, but Iowa State forms need help

The federal forms work fine, but the Iowa state form processing is flawed.
For example, I needed to file an amended return but the Iowa state forms printed included instructions for e-filing when it was not available. Also, WA state prompts continued to pop up.

Lose a star for change to Dividend/interest area

The change made to the Interest and dividend section is terrible. Please put it back to the way it was. Very complex and just stupid.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I bought or sold investments
