What a pain!

Frustrating as some items were not included and had to be manually inputted. Directions are confusing at times, but better to use Turbo than not.

2024 improvements

It was easier to correct mistakes this year.
Entering 1099-INT and 1099-B was confusing compared to last year. I was thrown off by having them all on one selection screen.

Turbo Tax is very easy and intuitive to use

As usual, Turbo Tax was easy to use and guides novices like me
I do hope that there will be filters in online FAQ / Q&A forums for current year as some of the answers are old and not relevant to 2024 or latest TT - also helpful if they can guide Medicare users to know what to enter and what not to. My case was a bit more complex as I had to remit substantial amount to Medicare before switching to Advantage and then got State coverage - I am sure this is common to most 65-70 year old tax payers

I feel that you ripped me off with the $40.00 refund processing fee. I didn't see where I could decline this. If I could get the refund without this fee, make it clear how I could.

TurboTax is OK for simple returns, not complex.

There were situations where I had to override figures, but understand I had a somewhat complex tax return as it required allocation between different states as we moved mid-year. But, even taking that into account, there was at least one circumstance where the directions in TurboTax for the AZ return were the exact opposite as the instructions for the return from the AZ Department of Revenue. I questioned the TurboTax directions, as the result, if followed, made no sense. For a little background, I am a CPA (retired) and know something about taxes.

Good, but Klunkier than last year

It took more effort than last year (2023) because of the added complexity of the treatment of RMDs from multiple IRAs. The process was NOT transparent, and required several iterations to complete properly
