I used TurboTax many years ago and then used a tax preparer. I decided to use TurboTax to do my 2024 Federal and State Tax returns. IMO, the software application has become less intuitive, more difficult to understand and less helpful in directing users to the correct tax forms and boxes to reference. In particular, the IRA and K-1 sections were EXTREMELY challenging and confusing, as was the VT State area. I was taken by surprise when filing my returns and presented with a $40 charge to process my Federal refund. I had purchased TurboTax PREMIER which includes Investments/Stocks and State return, expecting ease in working the IRA & K-1 information and no charge to file my State return. These expectations were not met.

TurboTax 2024 is a great program

This year's Turbo Tax worked well for me but there was more of a learning curve than the last several years. I did have the opportunity to have 2 sessions with your technical support staff and found both sessions productive. The second session was especially beneficial. This individual was very skilled in moving around in my return and tracking down the reason that I was experiencing difficulties.

Turbo tax was good first time thru.

Smooth and easy. However I have one issue. I got a late 1099 and did an amended return but could not get it to file. It said I had filed but there was no input on how to pay the tax due or no $25 charge for the State return. Was that all included in the first go around or did my amended return not get sent. I have no confirmation that the amended return was actually filed. If all the payment data switched over maybe it is OK

Turbotax has done a great job of helping me file 20 years worth of tax forms!! I am not sure how much longer I pay for their software when they are giving it away to anyone who wants taxes done!!
