Frustration with inability to print forms
on February 25, 2025
Posted by: jwnetseeker
Like 2024 TT MAC desktop overall. But very frustrated that I am unable to print my fed or state tax forms using the "File" / "Print" options. I step through the process but when I select to print nothing happens...doc is not sent to printer.

Form 2210

You make it difficult to find and review form 2210. By the time someone determines they will be required to pay an underpayment penalty you have to go back and complete the forms. It would be better if the form was mentioned or highlighted earlier. I seem to run into this issue every year......

Overall TurboTax Premier is an excellent product. I had some difficulty downloading my Edward Jones account information and understanding where it went. But, I don't think that was a Turbot Tax problem.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Software is getting worst

this year software was confusing. I use the auto download feature for banking and was terrible. It had several lines of data from one bank. It would have been easier just to use the 1099-INT from the bank. When you click the review button, it wants to download again. It doesn't acknowledge it was successful in downloading your data. Nor can you review it as a summary
Pros: I bought or sold investments

TT is great. But has silly issues, not resolved.

Excellent program overall. Been using it for years, never had an issue resolving any questions or completing all the correct forms to file for Fed and State returns. That said, there has been a continuing issue with being able to print or save to a pdf forms that are completed, if a state doesn't have all forms released, even if it is one that you don't use or need. It doesn't allow you to print anything, e.g. the federal portion or in my case a secondary / non-resident state return. You can manually go into each form and print or save, but the function at the end of the process when you are filing or even post filing doesn't even have a print or save button appear. Seems like a simple fix, but it has been going on for at least two years now ('23 & '24) per the forum Q&A.

Too bad I have to pay for the Premier just because I have investments. I no longer have rental properties.

this has been my tax preparation program for over ten years! I especially like that I don't have to worry about reentering all my information because the program will import the previous year's filing, and all of the information is brought forward. Bonus!
