I love that I can download financial information using Turbo Tax Priemier. I also like that it walks me through step by step and reviews at the end for any errors. I have been using it for years .

What is the $40 Federal Return Turbo Tax fee
on February 24, 2025

Tax prep is ok. I purchased the premier program at Staples, which includes both Federal and State returns. Federal return e-files free. You pay for State. That's fine. But at the end, the screen reads $40 Federal Return Processing Fee. Turbo Tax does NOT mention this at purchase time, nor as you begin preparing your taxes, nor after the Federal form is e-filed. It comes at the very end. Also, once your state taxes are completed, you do not get the option to paper file the state taxes. You MUST e-file the state taxes as well.

How stupid to require a nickname no one has used b

All was pretty straightforward. Regarding estimated tax payments, your form/screen should make clear to NOT include estimated tax payments already included in the previous year's tax return. I almost had that amount added twice because it was not clear on your form that this amount of extimated tax payments was already included. I also do not believe estimated taxes should be labeled as "uncommon".

GREAT SOFTWARE! VERY USER FRIENDLY TOO! I would recommend this software to my over 50 age group. No frustration, only easy solutions!

Restart issue

When restarting TT after a prior session has been saved and exited -- an improvement would be to take the user directly to the last screen completed -- instead of going through another general mini-review.

Disappointed in Changes to 1099-B, 1099-Div entry

I do not like the changes that you made to investment income and sales of stocks, bonds and mutual funds. Having used Turbo Tax for 25+ years, it took me a while to figure out how to enter my 1099-B transactions. The TaxSlayer software is much more user friendly than the current version of Turbo Tax
