I have used TurboTax for years, and does great!

I retired in August but worked my previous job title Jan - July. I left my occupation title on the 1040. Should you mention in Turbo Tax its ok to leave out "retired?"
I did to get help from a live person that I looked up online: there seemed to be a glitch when I entered my pension plan Company Tax ID #. I put the state/XXX number in the same box that I was a bit confused, and the software would not let me fix it. I called the helpline, and she did a good job helping - I had to delete the entire company name and start the section over. The Community was confused based on my review and I mentioned that to the TurboTax rep.

The turbo tax live expert made and saved my day. As to other things, after 25 years or more of using turbo tax., I am always frustrated, confused, doubtful, full of anxiety, and hope the IRS doesn't come back on me. Probably is just me and not the turbo tax program. Doing once a year, the tax law changes, turbo tax changes, and forgetting some things is frustrating, turbo tax folks are helpful and are improving.

You don't ask for the IRS Tax Payer Identity Pin when updating personal information at the very beginning. THAT IS AS IMPORTANT AS SS#, NAME and ADDRESS. I have brought it up before!

Turbo Tax is great!!

I have used Turbo Tax for a long time. Probably ever since it came out. We had rental property for years and it made it easier than doing it manually. We have stocks and being able to download from the broker is great. The first few years I would check the downloads, but it was always perfect. Now I just accept it. I have always done my own taxes, even worked for one of the big name chains one season and saw how easy it worked. Turbo Tax may have come out the next and I thought I could do it with just a little help.

Been a customer for approx 12 years. Ease of use. Friendly, competant phone support. Have recommended to friends. Price not hiked this year. Some of the changes this year are cosmetic only, but feel kind of dummied down.
