Where is my prior year data?

My experience was ok overall this year but I had to re-enter some information that you should have had from the year before. I used turbotax last year and shouldn't have had to re-enter my rental depreciation, my passive activity loss and my capital loss carryforward.

Not happy

Not easy to navigate. Preparing to return is easy, but finding your return once you closed the program and try to return to it is difficult. Also, once the returns are filed, it is impossible to find them and, impossible to print them.

Feel like the investment import section could be improved as I still seem to have to do calculations. On the positive side I have been using the product for years and the year to year import of base info is helpful.

Great software package for a long time

I have been using Turbotax since the DOS versions. For non-old people that is the computer operating system before windows. Turbotax has helped me navigate through start-up and sale of businesses, rental real estate, and getting kids through college. Record keeping is still important but, once you have everything assembled, it is a breeze to get everything entered and e-filed. I can't see any reason to change.

Very easy to work with the software. Only issue I experienced was at the end. When I entered the banking information, I thought it would go into both the federal and state returns. Found that it must be entered separately into the Direct Deposit area of each return.

Good for relatively simple returns

It works good if your returns are simple. When returns get complicated if will ask questions only a tax accountant can answer.
Do not purchase from anyone you are not 100% sure is legit. Unscrupulous scammers sell the same license codes to multiple people and it will work until you attempt to efile.
