Efficient software

I gave a 5 star for the quality of the software. It would be very helpful to be able to access the Turbo Tax technicians easier just to ask a question about the Turbo Tax product I am using.

I have been using Turbotax from the beginning. Honestly, it used to be better in guiding you through the tax program. The step-by-step is good, but there used to be MORE information available in pop up boxes and little short video help. You used to explain things better and more completely.

Buggy this year

TT is not printing copies of my tax forms this year
and
TT is requiring me to download a copy of WA state tax even though none is available to download
and
TT quits if I try to download the WA state tax forms that I don't need

Turbo Tax is easy to use

I've been using this for years. It's easy because it imports last year's data for comparison purposes - helps me make sure I didn't forget anything. Also the import function (forms from my broker) helps avoid manual entry mistakes.......

UI Looks like how taxes were done in 1990

Experience on a Mac is a joke. Looks like you haven't updated it in years. You don't take advantage of the available screen and seem to squeeze the content into a small column.
I needed to edit about a dozen stock sales and took 30 minutes to realize the edit icon was hidden "off-column" on the right side and scrolling with the mouse didn't work, had to actually use the cursor key. This was after I started a new return thinking something got screwed up with the first.
Will be looking for other tax prep software next year.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
