Thorough and Accurate but the State section needs
on February 27, 2026

I have been using TurboTax for 30 years and have always found it very accurate and helpful. I very much like the options to step through every topic, those have helped me find additional entries that I would haveentries that I would have missedentries that I would have missed onentries that I would have missed on my ownentries that I would have missed on my own. However, this year I had the State version and found that it is much more difficult to use. If I had to go back to the Federal section to check something when I returned to the State section, I had to start all over again to step through the questions and click buttons to answer yes or no just to get back to where I had left off. It would be very helpful if the State section had different tabs like tthe Federal "Wages & Income" or "Deductions & Credits" etc.

Need custom explanation for some calculation.

For some specific tax calculations, if it provides customized explanation (how it's calculated) would provide peace of mine. For example, my AMT calculation has just one question then the resulting number with no insight! I had to check the form to check the calculation detail. How about a customized calculation explanation in this AI age.

Difficult Overcoming Software Glitch in TT Premier
on February 27, 2026

We've used Turbo Tax for years with no considerable problem and infrequent need for support calls. This year was different, troubling, and time consuming with hours of calls and no solution provided by support. The software would not allow e-filing because it kept asking to correct "errors" on simplified method for a 1099-R where there was no reason for simplified method as the 1099 provided the taxable amount. Somehow the software developed a glitch. But finally allowed filing this morning and other aspects okay.

The process was a little tricky with getting use to the new format but it fell into place after a few entries.

A little more confusing than past years. Often asks for information that doesn't apply and sometimes difficult to get past that page.

On-line Turbotax has a way to go
on February 27, 2026

I found the on-line version confusing and I didn't see a direction, I felt lost with random questions. I found that I could download the program to my computer (which I surprised me- I thought this was an on-line only program) and that is how I finished and e-filed. With on-line, state e-filing seemed to cost me $39 with no mention of credit, while using the downloaded version e-filing state was only $15 (after $10 credit). I'll be definitely looking at other products next year.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
