TurboTax Changes Caused Me Problems

I didn't like the changes made to the 1099-R screen where it said NEEDS REVIEW. Answering the questions that flowed from that caused a self-employment tax to be incorrectly added to my return. I never did understand what I did wrong to make that happen. I finally took the advice given in the orange banner to only make changes if information from my form was missing or incorrect which there wasn't any.

Proposed Enhancement feature of next year planning

TurboTax needs to develop features to allow users to perform tax planning estimates with next tax year. For example, I use last year's tax edition 2024 to prepare tax planning estimates for tax year 2025. TurboTax is excellent for next year tax planning, but needs to provide next year calendar dates for estimated taxes with options to update other calendar sensitive dates in current year edition for planning next year edition.

No change logs for updates.Will be using different

1) TT does not release readme / change logs except for professional products. There is no method to know an update modified your taxes without rerunning your taxes and doing a line by line comparison.
2) In Forms Mode, different colors are used for different fields / numbers. This was in Interview Mode years ago. Please bring it back.
Will be using different tax software next year.

Turbotax is a good program

Bought a rental property in January with related financing, then refinanced it in September 2025. The costs related to the closing documents were hard to put into TurboTax bacause the line descriptions didn't match,

Have used Turbo Tax for years and getting better at using it as time goes by. It's an excellent product and makes preparing my taxes easier. I especially appreciate the ability to carry over information from prior years taxes which saves a lot of time.
