Four stars given instead of five because had issue with update download requiring expert help form Intuit. Also down load of tax forms encourage using preparing taxes on line instead of using desktop. I did not like the online preparation, therefore, switching to the desktop format I find up better and easier to use.

Good, but need improvements for Trading Accounts

I have used TurboTax and filed my own returns for several decades. The only real problems that I have had are with filing the forms for my complex trading accounts and strategy. It would be easier if import feature worked better. Both my bank and trading accounts are listed institutions, but the data still does not import cleanly.

Beware the Switch from Online to Software
on February 16, 2026

Annoyed this year as I switched from online to software. Difficult to transition between the two. Also, buggy software wouldn't let me file electronically because of the way they imported a form, until I deleted teh form and entered it manually. Paying too much to do TurboTaxes job for them.
Pros: I bought or sold investments, I had a baby

Desktop version Easier than Online
on February 16, 2026

Using Desktop version was relatively easy to use. Been using for over 15-20 years. Tried using the online version as suggested by app but had too many problems with how it worked. Was unable to continue, so went back to doing it on desktop.

What the heck is "on-line?"

VERY upset that when I downloaded the product as usual like I've done for 20 years, a big window appeared suggesting that I should switch to on-line. I didn't know what on-line meant but it said I could switch back if I wanted. I pressed the button. I hated it. I went to switch back and had to use the virtual assistant to find out that I'd have to download the product again and find my code an start over. In addition, everything I had entered "on-line" was gone.

Very Disappointed in Turbo Tax this year

No printable state form which is the same as not giving me the state return. Helps were not provided. Every time I clicked on a question mark the help screen was blank.
