After many many years of using Turbo Tax, my infuriating experience is that the annually increasing and now constant UPSELL messaging and windows displayed during the tax prep/filing process are what now dominate the Turbo Tax program. It has overtaken and destroyed the integrity, quality and functionality of the software, and Intuit in general.
I was genuinely shocked at the incoherent flow of using the program to walk thru my tax return this year. It's pretty zig-zag in questioning, back to this, forward to that.. frustrating.
And hey, kudos to Turbo Tax for hanging on until the bitter end, when I eFiled my Fed Return, for desperately trying to get this WA State resident to prepare and file my State income tax return at the same time. HEADS UP TURBO TAX: WA State doesn't have a state income tax. Why not code that little nugget into the software?

Accurate calculations.
Unclear directions for 1099-Misc with Royalty caused a lot of extra time.
TurboTax not automatically filling in information that we do not have any foreign accounts or trusts even though we answered that question during the preparation.

importing stock trades has always been flawless. It would be disasterous if i had to type in every trade. They never do a professional job with the alabama program though, i imagine they spend more effort on the big states.

Disappointed 'Its Deductible' is not available

I have ben using Turbo Tax for over 20 years and I have always been very satisfied with the product and I would rate it very good to superior. However, this year I cannot do this because one of the features that I have come to rely on was gone and I had no idea that it was eliminated. The 'Its Deductible' feature was always a plus to make sure I could get all of my charitable contributions in order in a mass input. Unfortunately, it was not on the 2025 Turbo Tax. As a result I can only rate this tax product as average. I may need to look at other tax document prep software to see if they have easier programs to keep my contributions in order. I would strongly suggest putting this feature back in. I know many like me rely on this to get things in order quickly for the maximum tax refund.
