Turbo Tax

I have used Turbo Tax to file my tax returns for a number of years. But Tax year 2025 is the most challenging year for me to file my returns. Part of it is the 1099R amount combining the RMD distribution and ROTH conversion amount. I was confused by the questions Turbo Tax raised to split the two amounts. I made an error and caught it because I was missing Form 8606 although I did a conversion. I got it right in the end after a few passes. Another item tripped me when I filed the tax returns and they were rejected because of missing IP Pins. I had to get them from the IRS On-line but had to use ID.me to sign on to the IRS site. Login.gov is not an acceptable way to login to IRS, only ID.me. A heads up to secure an IP PIN from the IRS as a pre-requisite to E-file would have been nice. The filtering of data thru straightforward questions is one of the keys to get an accurate tax return and to avoid re-filing.
I opted to use the legacy method versus the new web application for simplicity and I felt constricted when I initially tried it. There was a point in the interview which offered no way to return to the previous page but to proceed and complete the process using the web application.

Turbotax is dependable

Turbotax is very accurate and easy to use. I have used Turbotax for over 20 years and have never had any problems or audits. I trust Turbotax more than accountants or any other package. I domy own taxes and my sons taxes.

Easy to follow tax preparation along with previous year's review alongside this year's taxes makes it also trustworthy that I am not forgetting anything.

CA 541-NR filing instructions for the K-1 form were confusing and incomplete. You need to work on this whole area, to make it more understandable, plus adding more examples (especially for Trust distributions).

The product is accurate and does a great job in reviewing all aspects of tax categories. I always had success with using Turbo tax in past years and will continue in future years. However, I have had challenges with the product, namely:
The UI is outdated and clumsy; small font is hard on older eyes and navigation is not intuitive.
I had to use the wizard to enter data instead of entering directly into forms.
