You failed to update the software and address a bug you have in software ? Seriously bug still present October 14, 2025? Software has a glitch when you enter your K1 and then have intuit do a smart check, do you have a clue what I am talking about? FORM 3868 ? This form with facilities has absolutely nothing to do with my business in software. I would send you a screenshot but you provide a input link

Turbotax makes it easy but not efficient
on October 15, 2025

I have been a turbotax Premiem edition user for decades. It has a lot of state about my past taxes which makes it easy to do new taxes and I have a lot of complex partnerships. However, there are a number of things that frustrate me.
1) The import of imformation from Fidelity and Schwab is broken. It connects but fails to import anything. How can the 2 big brokerages not work with Turbotax? How could this not be tested? It seems to be a well known problem as people say "try try again and try again and then manually enter". This is absolutely frustrating and the first time in years that it failed so spectacularly.
2) I have a lot of K-1 forms from partnerships, with Section 199A reporting. These are extremely manual, because unlike most public traded partnership where taxpackagesupport generated txf files, none of partnerships seem to know how to generate a txf file. And the primary reason is that the txf standard does not allow for that information to be coded and imported! To be considered a premier product this HAS to be fixed. By manual entry, I am making a lot of mistakes whereas the business that is sending the K-1 form is better equipped to do the right thing and send a txf file I can import.
3) After entering a K-1 form, turns out there are many errors that one has to fix manually (often it is not clear how to fix them). The user interface should fix this before we move to next screen rather than having to go to forms interface to fix the errors.
4) Form 8997 is not supported, code Z for a schedule D transaction. This is opportunity zone investments and needs yearly reporting. The official workaround seem to be to not efile but do a paper mailing. This is a relatively simple form, why would this not be supported even in the premier product.
5) Multiple states. With real estate investments it is easy to get into a situation with multiple state tax forms. Each of them is horrendously expensive. We need a package where multiple states can be bought at a discount. I find it easier to manually file for states!
Pros: I bought or sold investments

TurboTax is a scam

Ridiculous e-file payment structure. In order to use the advertised $10 club purchase credit towards state e-filing, I'd have to pay a $40 federal refund processing fee. This is a mafia-level scam.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
