Buggy software that incorrectly handles situations. Improperly handles multiple things like QSBS from K1 and pass though carry forwards.

Some tax forms not supported, even in Premier ?!

It is disappointing that even the "Premier" version does not support all tax forms, such as California 3805V ..,so if you have any NOL (net operating loss) carryovers -- you are out of luck. How is that even possible?

TurboTax needs real competition. It sucks

Still so many stupid bugs. Someone needs to learn about how to account for options sold that expired worthless. So many incomplete items in partnership forms and other docs that only comes up int he federal check and the dumb software dumps you to a form with no guidance as to how to fill it out or what it's complaining about so you waste time googling workarounds to the software

Lost all my data and I had to redo all the work again. Asks me to install update and relaunch 100 times. So many issues with software usability.

TurboTax makes a confusing involved process easier

Tax prep was involved but TurboTax helped keep me on track and able to finish all the necessary detailed information. Importing my 1099s made life MUCH simpler and saved me from any potential typos.
Did not have any confusion about the income or deductions involved so no need for professional assistance.
May need it next year.

TurboTax makes errors that can not be fixed.

If a rental property somehow gets marked as a royalty property it is impossible to bring it back to the correct type. This happened t me on a property that a properly marked and reported for many years. then one year its type got changed and I could not get it changed back. Reentering everything made no sense as 10 to 20 years of depreciation was in the file and no way was I going to reenter that data. So bad news.
