Turbo Tax is pretty good.

Questions and investment information went well.

Importing investments went well, State and school district income tax when well. City tax was incorrect because school district income tax was in the city tax boxes causing a miscalculation for city tax. I did the city tax online but seeing the city tax info in Turbo Tax was helpful. I liked using Turbo Tax better than HR Block, the questions seemed clearer and easier for me to understand. Reviewing investment information seemed easier than in HR Block software (2023 taxes).

Turbo Tax is okay.

The entry of information and the generation of the return are excellent. I particularly appreciate import of stock information.
My problem is some annoying interface items. I choose not to register my copy of the software. I do not need to be reminded every time I open my return that I have not done this. Give me the option of never seeing this screen again after the first encounter.
When updating the software I want to see what is being updated and have the option not to update at this time. I do not need to sit through a multi minute update when I open the return just to enter a quick form that arrived in today's mail. The software used to allow this. I always updated to the latest prior to filing my return. In fact, I would be surprised if you allowed a filing without the latest updates.
Two stars removed for the above annoyances.

Good software, but slow to fix problems

For the most part, Turbo Tax is a fine piece of software which covers most situations. Those it doesn't handle properly, however, remain year after year. As an example, Bond interest for "Agency" bonds are exempt from California State tax - but TT shows them as taxable in CA, and has done so for years despite a large number of complaints. It would be a simple fix, but they just don't. Annoying, but possible to create a workaround.

Return filing made simple

Did not no there was a fee for e-filing Fed until the very end. Fed and State fees to high.
