Underpaid Colorado TABOR state sales tax refund

I was notified my Colorado State Tax was in error and needed to AMEND it and enter the reason for amending as: "to correct the amount of Tabor state sales tax refurnd". I never saw in TurboTax state where to make this note. In fact it doesn't even say amended. It did reflect that previously I got $1,426.00 refund and now the refund is $1,352.00. I did get the e-deposit of 1426.00. So now I need to send a $74.00 payment to the State of Colorado. How???? Turbo Tax just left it as a $1,352.00 refund.

Federal return ok, an issue with Missouri state

We had a problem on our Missouri Return where the standard deduction + casualty loss deduction we used on the federal return was not allowed as it exceeded the Married Filing joint standard deduction. We had to amend our Missouri return accordingly after notification by the state. Federal return seems ok.

A Good Tax Preparation Product

In general, a good tax preparation product. Intuit-TurboTax needs to focus on including electronic versions of newly issued IRS Tax forms in the TurboTax Desktop (or online) product so that it is not necessary to download the new IRS forms from the IRS website, fill them out manually and then have to file a paper return. The real value of TurboTax is its ability to import financial data from user's financial websites as well as file returns electronically, thus taking weeks off of the time waiting for a refund.

Long time user frustrated at useless changes

I have been using TTax for over 20 years. It is accurate and covers many complex situations. However, your user interface has gotten worse. E.g. the display of stock transactions or interest used to be single lines that allowed a lot of information to be displayed at once, now you have these absolutely stupid boxes that clutter up the page and make it hard to edit the transactions or see what is going on. More and more often I am resorting to the forms instead of the GUI. My advice: stop fixing things that aren't broken and concentrate on accuracy and handling all the special situations that come up when filing taxes.
