TurboTax Asked me to Reimport Data Again and Again

Your customer representative was very helpful but I am disappointed in your TurboTax Premier product. It asked me to reimport information that was already imported and kept reviewing/reimporting information that was already imported. Very annoying. It caused me to miss the April 15th date because I had to go back and check for duplicate forms being added to my tax returns

Not good experience this year

After over a dozen years of TT, 2024 was a bad experience for me. First, my electronic filing was thrown back multiple times for a "PIN error" or something that TT couldn't resolve. I gave up and filed paper forms. Secondly, the calculations done for the 1040 produced by TT were (not "100% accurate" as claimed). My refund was reduced a small amount. That's not the major complaint: I got a corrected 1099 on 4/14 (!) from a broker and decided to try doing a 1040-X. (I've done this before.) I reduced line 1a (total ordinary dividends) on the "interview" by $86 and everything blew up. The original filing changed, many numbers changed (not just the $86 income) and the 1040-X said IRS owed me $274. I did the form manually and the correct figure is $19 refund. Now I won't be able to import 2024 into 2025 next year. I'll be looking for alternative product.

2024 TurboTax had bugs that affect performance

This year's version was the worst ever. Several bugs that manifested in hang-ups, continuous spinnings that could only be resolved with using the back button or the worse situation of spinning (after I entered mine cell number for an additional status contact), froze the back button so the only way to get out was "force quit" and then restart. I filed 2 returns and in both instances, this spring happened right after I entered my state ID info. I could even submit this review easily.

TurboTax Premier is barely usable for US expats

For US expats Premier does *in principle* have sufficient features for filing US taxes. In reality, it is *extremely* difficult to properly formulate the tax situation of a US citizen living abroad, and Premier does not really help here. Of course, much of the problem lies with the reality that expats are taxes twice: once in the country of their residence and once for their US citizenship. But TurboTax does nothing to make this morass of tax lunacy transparent to the user.
