Turbotax was great- no longer the case

I did my taxes. When I tried to electronically send them I was told I needed to run check for updates. I did, and still got the same message. This went on for several days. I just tried again- and it went through. I have wasted many hours over this and other issues with Turbotax. I have used turbo tax for about 25 years and this year was without a doubt the worse experience using the program. I am going to investigate other programs to use. I do not want to experience the multiple problems I had this year.

AL retirement reporting 1099-MISC

Had problem. AL non-taxable bonus from ACIPCO reported on 1099-MISC. I believe it should have been on a 1099-R form. When input as MISC on TT it comes out as Business Income and starts down the path to describe and input Business data. This a problem TT has had for years. I realize that the problem should be corrected by ACIPCO, but this hasn't happened.

I had to amend my Tax as some of the info. was not transferred on the tax form. Originally, I was getting refund where as in reality I had to pay. I have been paying taxes and my position has not changed from year to year,

The program missed Form 8962 even though we have had to use it for several years. This caused our filing to be rejected through IRS.

Engaged telephonically with your Tax expert on two occasions---he was very patient,helpful and ,knowledgeable---he gave the guidance I required and I finalized my returns very comfortably.
This is the first time I engaged with your tax expert during my OVER 25 YEARS WITH TURBO TAX.
I am a very satisfied customer ,but I MISSED THE DISK which you discontinued this time-had to download online-I am used to having the comfort and flexibility the disc gave me-----guess I will have to adapt.

Turbo Tax is very Effective

I used the download version. It was easy to use and I was able to move through the Federal and State questions quickly.
