Didn't transfer INV Interest Expense to State 540

TurboTax failed to carry over "Investment Interest Expense" into my California State Tax Return. I have Margin Interest carried over from previous years. The program transfers the unused carry over from prior year to the current year on my Federal 1040 form. However, I noticed on my State Return I owed lots of taxes. After laying out the Federal Form 1040 next to my California form 540 I noticed that my Deductions did not include the "Investment Interest Expense". The program failed to transfer the Interest Expense Deduction from my Federal to the State return.
In this year (and prior years) I've paid zero Federal Taxes due to income being from Qualified Dividends and nonqualified investment income being offset by my investment income expense. As a retired person who had no earned income we don't make that much money.
Yet I was surprised that I owed so much State Taxes.

Luckily this year I caught it while reviewing the forms prior to submitting by efile.
Same thing happened last year but didn't realize it.
Now I am going to have to go back and file and Amended Return.

Great tax program for overseas moves

Very Helpful in preparing a complicated Federal and State Returns involving an overseas move. Don't think I would have been able to complete without TurboTax.

UGH!

Premier desktop for Windows worked well until I reached the e-file option and tried to pay for one state e-file fee and received a pop-up error message that something went wrong and to try again later. After two phone calls with Intuit support (0.5 hours on April 7 and 2.5 hours on April 18), I was told that I had an expired license key so I purchased a new TurboTax license and still had the same e-file payment problem. The second phone call got dropped before the problem was resolved and your support representative could not call me back because you don't allow outbound calls. In the end, I uninstalled and reinstalled TurboTax and was able to add credit card information and complete the e-filing process. UGH! So much time wasted on a step that should have been simple!

Piece of Crap Software

Your software would not eFile my State or Federal Returns. I spent about 3-4 hours on my own and another 4 hours with your support team trying to fix the problem before I finally got with a Supervisor who knew what she was doing and fixed the problem

Entering data for publicly traded Limited Partnership is still inadequate. (Though improved from previous years.) I had a rough time figuring the passive income tax credit.
