set up for errors

found the new format for dividends, interest, stocks, crypto, etc. difficult to use. Much easier to see what you were working on in the old format.

Generally excellent but a bit buggy this year

There was a bug in the RMD section. When I filled in the RMD, it was charging me 25% of this amount and adding it to my tax due. I had to over ride and enter my RMD amount on my form. I read on-line that this was an issue this year. I would expect this bug to be fixed by tax due day but it wasn't.

Great trust in TurboTax Premier!

The TurboTax 2024 Premier version is a software that I greatly trust to handle my family's tax situations! It's easy to use and follow step-by-step! I plan to use the TurboTax Premier edition for my 2025 taxes!

Not Happy. Won't be a customer next year

I am very unsatisfied with the premier software this year. I had to re-enter and troubleshoot that took valuable time out of my day. I have used turbo tax since I started filing taxes. I won't be using it next year. I wasn't able to upload documents and had to manually input them. The software has gone downhill. Customer service was okay. They tried, but I felt like they wasted my time.

Great but some upgrades are quirky

I've been a TurboTax fan for a long time. Being able to work in the "guide me through each section" format rather than those antiquated IRS forms has been a game changer and I'll never go back to doing my taxes the old IRS way. This year, for the first time, I did struggle through a couple of sections however: 1) the INT and DIV section required way too much scrolling because of its new design and I more than once inadvertently lost the information I had imported from the various brokerage firms and banks where I have accounts. 2) when I wanted to save a copy of my returns to a specific folder on my hard drive, it wasn't evident where the files were saving to and I wasn't able to navigate to the correct folder (I'm on MAC) and I wasn't sure where the files were saving. 3) last but not least, I had to provide information about a new annuity I began collecting on in 2024. The explanations provided to get through the section were short and sweet and about as clear as mud. I wasted about two hours going through that (annuities) section over and over again ... I finally gave up and got connected with Chastity from Indiana. She was terrific and helped me find my way through.

TurboTax is the standard but hate the nudges

Overall it's a good product but the constant nudges to upgrade and/or buy audit protection, etc. are a bit much. Also, often when an error is detected at the end of the process it's very difficult to figure out the context of the error...very frustrating and in my situation it took over 3 hours to finally figure it out.

Makes basic stuff easy. Gets complicated very fast the moment you have one 1099-misc with "other income"

Turbo tax deluxe was confusing.

The first time I inserted the info, I had a $66+K capital gain I think from the sale of a house and couldn't correct the error. I paid $50, the woman had troubling reading my computer screen, so couldn't figure out my error. She said to file an extension going thru Intuit online and in 1-2 wks, consult someone who could help me with the return. On Intuit online, I couldn't figure out where to ask to file an extension and couldn't file the state form online without filing the federal online. So I decided to open a new tax form, reinsert the info and was able to complete everything. I used Deluxe this time instead of Business, which I used for many years. I paid an extra $50 for nothing.
