First time filing went well!

This was my first time filing my taxes by myself and online and turbo tax made it very easy. If I ever had a question about what was needed I was able to figure it out with the hints in each question or asking online on their forum. This is a great product!
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I moved, I bought or sold investments

Premier version is not worth it

Meh! Don't like the upsells

After entering the product key, I was bombarded with "extras" that cost more that I didn't want, and frankly, it was hard to get past them to begin entering my tax information. I actually uninstalled and reinstalled the product out of frustration. Plus, some of the instructions were not at all clear. Example "you can deduct 44% of your long term capital gains from your SC state tax income", so I do that and the tax goes up. ???

multi year user. didnt give a five bc ttax didnt tell me even though i was efiling with Missouri that i still needed to mail something. told me after the fact. i dont like that.

TurboTax quality not as good as previous years

I have used TurboTax for the last several years and loved it- never had any issues.
This year is another story. There were times when I would select the return i wanted to work on and I would get an error message 70001 " Already Running Under Another Account" . i would reboot, start up turbotax again, click on the return i wanted to work on & would get the same error. Just so frustrating when i was only running one Turbotax.. after a couple hours of struggling, the error message finally stopped showing, so i could get on with working on my return.
the second big issue was after I saved my return and exited TurboTax for the day. Started Turbotax 2 days later and select the return to be worked on, a window would pop up saying loading the return, at the bottom of the window it said something about this taking longer than usual and then that window disappeared. and then turbotax aborted. so i rebooted and started turbotax again, selected the return - same thing. i repeated that sequence several times, and FINALLY I got to my return to make a couple of changes.
and then my last issue- e-filed my returns. in an hour I was notified that both e-files failed. I brought up TurboTax, it showed me that both e-files failed and had a button to click on for each return- the federal and state. i clicked on the one for federal and it told me my IP PIN was missing. & it told me where to update it. I don't recall TurboTax having ever asked me if I had an IP PIN. I did fill it in. There was no way to go back and see why the state e-file was rejected..I e-filed both returns and my federal return was accepted this time.

Usually my return takes 2-4 hours using TurboTax, but due to the issues with Turbotax, it took me about 11 hours this year. And the stress of each issue and wondering if I was actually going to be able to file my returns was extremely stressful - and my blood pressure shows that.
so that's all the negative.

on the positive side, it did import information from last years taxes, so my capital loss carryover was easily able to be used.

Turbotax is great
