TurboTax is TERRIBLE for STATE, OK for Federal

Overall it is good for federal, but not good for state. Why did I purchase Turbotax Premier if it does not support electronic filing of my illinois state return cause of a common form: ILForm 4644 which is for reporting Capital Gains? Also, cause I cannot efile it, it will not give the option to add my direct deposit routing information onto the form. Finally, the Filing instructions only show instructions for eFiling which TurboTax does not support for my state cause of one form and it takes me into an endless loop that will not navigate me back to "print a return for mailing" seeing that is my only option. TurboTax is fine for Federal, but they cut corners and don't seem to care to do a thorough job for State returns, at least not Illinois. So they lost out on my $25 and anybody else's who used this common form. And now I am late "filing" cause the post office is closed. So now I may be stuck with a penalty for late filing! They had this same issue to not support eFile for IL state for many years for a different Form (M), but they still did not fix the endless loop mentioned above. BUT they will still persist displaying messages suggesting to eFile State, collect your $25 to file eFile State, even though their program says it is ineligible to eFile. Then, if you proceed to try, it wont be submitted and you have to sit on the phone for hours trying to get your refund. VERY Frustrating! TURBOTax, get it together, will ya?

Did the scheduled payment work?

My taxes were more challenging this year, so it felt more challenging to do my taxes. Very anxious because I had scheduled payment for today when taxes are due through the app...and it has not gone through, yet!!! If I get dinged for late payment, whose responsibility is that? I set everything up, not sure if there is anyone to ask about it at this point. If the taxes do not get paid in time, I probably won't use this software ever again.

Still Good but regressing a bit...

Some difficulties
1- New UIs introduced are buggy - for example the list of imported documents is clunky to navigate and group. An extremely frustrating bug is that when you delete a documents the whole screen goes gray and one doesnt realise a dialog box has opened and one has to scroll all the way up to see it and click on it. Wasted a lot of time over this scrolling up and down as I had to delete a few documents .

3- please add minor conveniences like autofilling credit cards from apple wallet etc.
4. please show Smart check errors all in one page and not one by one
5. when importing documents apply some intelligence to the software to detect similar ones from past year and offer to delete. this will save so much time and negate the points mentioned in #1
6. Finally found a way to increase font size on the software in settings.. after many years. Make this text size change option available readily especially when we pull up help documents etc .
7. A future option is to show the Form in context side by side with the Easy step to see how entries we make map to form fields.

As for tax advice use - there is no description of what would follow in terms of user experience if i clicked on tax advice - just a buy now button. Not many will click on such a button to be charged $60.

been using for 10+ years and just can't be beat. easy to navigate, though importing can be difficult. it would be nice if when using BACK BUTTON it would take you EXACTLY where you were without having to scroll down over and over and over. just a thought. thanks

Not bad when online help is there.

I would sign up for the Turbo tax advantage but when u add it all up it is too much: This yr TT was $80, online help was $30, Tax Audit will be $45 and VA state efile was $25. Why would anyone pay $117 for just the 2025 TT alone? Give us a real deal and maybe I will consider it. Thanks for the helpers I had with online help. Tax Audit folks always seem to be nice. I am done!!!!!~
