There were several places that confused me. have a 1099 MISC for Royalties and there wasn't enough areas to fill out taxes. I file in 2 states and there was no place for the property tax i paid on the property.

Fraudulent product; let me purchase 4 states but would only let me efile 3. No mention of this until after purchase and when I get to the efile screen.

Pretty good except the bugs and advertisements

The federal process is pretty reasonable. Intuit seems pretty set on squeezing every dime out of their customers - always more ads to buy their products which are overpriced anyway.
It is annoying to have errors flagged for form fields that require a value. When using the easystep method, perhaps it should be filling all required field. The error just pops up a dialog box that says "field need a value" and provides a place to enter a value - no explanation of what the field is or what value should be there. So, bring up the forms view to see what it is all about. The field appears to be one that should be blank, so back to easystep to put in a zero just to pacify it. Guess what... easystep didn't stay at the same place, it went back to a step before the error popped up. I go through the steps again and get to the error again and hope the error is for the same field (since it doesn't say) and enter zero. Wash - rinse - repeat.
I don't know if all states are the same, but turbotax's software for my state pretty much just pops up forms and say fill this in and click next. We put up with it because the main reason for getting the state software is so we can e-file our state return.
I had a pretty simple return this year and finally after far more time than filling in a paper return, it get to the point where I can pay way too much to e-file (yes fed is free, but not state). And guess what... it failed! Of course, it succeeded in charging my credit card! It has very verbose and not useful information on the failure. Somewhere in there it says to go online and update software along with lots of other problems that need fixing. Well I went to the menu bar (not "online") and told it to update itself. It downloaded, installed, restarted back at the beginning of the e-file process. This time it went through, thankfully. Glad to be done with this crap for another year.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Frustrating experience but we still use it.

from Ossining, NY We moved after selling hour home.
I keep thinking, "They could do better." 1. For example, a spin-off stock from a stock we'd purchased was merged and delisted. Choices were missing from the drop-down to identify how the spin-off was acquired. We were forced to select "gift' , technically wrong but it aligned with zero cost basis. 2.The new screen showing financial downloads with the light gray boxes is annoying to scroll down and then, open detail to review aka "complete" the entry. Just put it with list of financials with the Edit button. Make it a review/edit button and remind us to review each downloaded entry. 3. It doesn't seem to tell us all the missing info. As it was starting to e-file our returns, it suddenly stopped to have us fill in a payer number on a 1099-B. Really? We had responded to all the "Needs Review" prompts well in advance and no red exclamation marks were showing in the list of forms. 4. There are great informational screens but we have no way of printing them. (disabled mouse functions?) It would be great to print out the comparison charts or the Charitable Donations list, for example, as reference tools. Pros: Learn More screens are useful; glad we can print those. Live help is great but we are conditioned to NOT being able to reach TT/Intuit directly. The thought of being "on hold" forever when time is short.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I moved, I bought or sold investments

Failed at the end

Form control failed at most critical time... filing day. Had to manually click through the forms to complete taxes with time running out. Had I not had my level of training & experience I would not have met the deadline. Program says there are errors in the return, but won't ID them for me.
