Turbo tax premier

I give TurboTax 4 stars due to difficulty uploading documents. The price is reasonable, but compared to ChatGPT, which only costs $20, the experience was smoother. ChatGPT recognized my tax docs instantly and explained everything clearly, though I had to file by mail. My case was simple—W-2 with standard deduction. I hope TurboTax improves its ease of use.

Still better than doing taxes without it

I sold a rental property last year. That situation is not well addressed in the system. Specifically I had difficulty adding capital improvements to my cost basis and adjust it for the depreciation that I have taken so far.
Secondly I would like to see a link between the Step by Step and Forms. For example, I noticed that my spouse phone number was incorrect on the Form but I could not override it. I should be able to override it or hover over it and see a link that would take to the right place in Step by Step to change it

A little frustrating at the end...would not file...downloaded update...erased my completed tax file...has taken 30 minutes to try to file....

Turbo Tax interface is very user-friendly

The wait time was long; a callback was received after 25 mins but there was no one at Turbo Tax end of the call. this happened twice. I had to get back in line again for another 20 -25 minutes. The third call was successful, and my question was answered to my satisfaction.

Forced to purchase Audit Defense!!!

It appears the program forced me to buy Audit Defense for an extra $45. Filing should have cost $20 for state only, but, I was charged $65. I backed out many times, but, could not get rid of the $45 extra theft, You are as bad as Facebook!

simple, and comprehensive 5 stars (only issue was the entry phase on an inherited non-qualified annuity, the system wanted to make it a RMD from a qualified annuity, but then caught the issue on the check phase, so good catch on a rare issue to boot)
