Turbo Tax is good but not without program issues.

On one of my 1099-R forms where state tax was withheld Turbo Tax did NOT allow me to enter any letters just numbers as the "State/Payer's state no." when if fact the Ohio State Payer number stated with OH then a 8 digit number. I therefore was forced to enter an incorrect State / Payer number, i.e. numbers only.
Thankfully this did not affect the correct filing of the tax return. So either Turbo Tax needs to correct their program logic for the entering of 1099-R information or the State of Ohio is reporting the incorrect "State/Payer's state no.".

Great product. I really love the fact it catches errors. Very thorough, especially if you allow the software to walk you the various sections. You can learn a lot about various tax issues.

Not a good software for state tax filing. Doesn't give user control to exclude certain duplicate state earning on W2 when worked in multiple states.

Be Professional & Show A Fee Structure up Front

Fees Disclosure and Advertising of those fees is done poorly (were not stupid) so just advertise the fees up front. In April the Filing Fee for a State was $25.00 with a usable $10.00 discount when it was purchased through a qualified retailer. You don't advertise the state filing fee as well not advertising the "SURPRISE"..."Processing Fee" of $40.00 dollars. I feel like I'm checking into a resort with the sneaky fee structure waiting to pop up at any time and scare the $$$ out of me. Shady Practice so bring your Business up to a Professional Standard by revealing your fee structure ahead of time. And I Mailed my State Taxes in and Saved (less Postage) vs $40+25-10=$55)

Needs work

This year's process was quite painful. There were many glitches in the software and I spent quite some time on the phone with your experts sorting it out and included a delete and reload of the software. Also, please sort out the issue with the Form 1116. I really don't expect to have to reorganize and read in-depth descriptions on why it's not working. Please organize and resolve that issue as well as the software glitches this year.

Have always used turbo tax. Beats the days when I used to have to use pen and paper, trips to library for forms, or trips to Kinko for copies.
