Easy to use. Able to save information from previous years and have it automatically transferred over.

Gets it done, but the constant upselling is getting more annoying. The federal lobbying to keep taxes opaque also sucks.

TurboTax 2024 still needs a little work
on April 15, 2025

This is for the Desktop version: Generally pretty good but a couple items still need work and some took a step back.
-Needs work: 1. The font size on the popup when clicking the help or extra info is just ridiculous, it's barely readable (even with reading glasses). And there's no way to make it bigger via zoom function or settings. Come on Dev's, you can do better, stop using whatever old UI kit you've got and bring it up to date!
2. Why does the program ask me to re-enter my routing and account number. It's the same as it was last year and it obviously worked or you would have heard about it. One of the reasons I keep using this program is reduce repetitive workload and having to dig out those numbers again and again is annoying. I understand you're trying to reduce errors but how about a pop up, like "is your info the same as last year?" and be done with it.
3. If I choose to pay the E-file fee with a CC where's the Apple Pay option? Why am I having to type all that stuff in? Furthermore, it's more secure using that pushing my CC info onto your servers (even if you claim not to store them).
-Regression
1. I don't like the new format for entering investment income. Having a separate tab/placard looking thing is annoying. The old table/line-item format as used in 2023 was just fine. Please go back.
Other than those things, it's all good! ;-)

Help features are still poor after all these years
on April 15, 2025

The help features for explaining what numbers need to be entered into the software is still very limited/poor - particularly on the state tax returns. Also, it would be nice to double click on a calculated number and then be taken by the software to the form or worksheet to understand how the number was calculated. I was very frustrating at times to try to figure out what was meant by TurboTax explanations - the software should provide a standard explanation but then go deeper if the user is still confused. I would have hoped that the software would be getting better at doing this, but it is no better than it was 10 years ago. Maybe you can develop add an iterative Artificial Intelligence agent to better assist the customers? TurboTax really needs to catch up with developments in AI agents.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Good product. Gets the job done with minimal pain!

I have faithfully been using Turbo Tax every year since the early 80's when my mother gave me your program, which came in a box with a CD. It was a birthday present. I've used it when my taxes were simple, and when they got considerably more complex after I got married, bought a house, and owned stocks. It never failed me!! I would give you a 5 star rating except I feel like you forget your faithful customers who come back year after year (like me). You make lots of enticing offers to get new customers (which is good), but don't "throw many bones" to your existing current customers. I feel forgotten. That would help to make Turbo Tax a really super product. Just being remembered...
Pros: I bought or sold investments
