Not great for figuring out IRA/Roth movement

Hard time figuiring out IRA to Roth steps. Never got a 8606 or whatever the form was that was suppose to track that to the IRS.

Frustrating 2024

Have used TurboTax the last 5 years in effort to learn about taxes. I do like how the refund counter that previews your refund as you adjust your taxes. However, there have been some bugs that I have tried to manually correct, which have been absolutely frustrating. This has finally made me question the rest of the software. Time to move on for me.

Easy but issues with NY state return

Why if I entered saving bond interest in box 3 of my 1099 did the interest show as a federal deduction in the federal column but not in the NY state column? US Savings bond interest is not taxable for NY state purposes. Turbo tax put the adjustment in the federal column, but I had to add it manually. to the NY state column. Seems like an error and I had to pay for the NY return.

TurboTax is terrible for 1031 Exchanges

really not happy. Will be seeking a refund.
I did a 1031 Starker exchange and this was the primary reason for the software -- to walk me through the process. Instead, it was next to useless. I exchanged 1 property for three and had to add cash and a small mortgage. Instead, I was left to read Intuit Community comments that did not agree on the treatment -- other than to say that TurboTax gives no support here.
