Terrible software, total junk!

Terrible product, Gives so many errors with little clue no how to fix it. The error cannot be copies either search for support. One has to manually type it. Feels like a 1980s product. Pethetic. Please improve your siftware product.

A big improvement over the horrible 2023 version

The 2024 version is a big improvement over the horrible 2023 version. It didn't crash a single time. But I don't care for the continual upselling efforts, and I don't understand why you have to release so many updates. After all of these years, you should be able to get the software right, especially in a year when there are so few changes in the tax codes

The new Built-In Ads for Audit Advantage have Jarring English Grammar and Syntax, someone please review them.. like hire a Copy Editor or run it through Grammarly please. It was near unnerving what it implied.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbotax is Mostly Great with One Exception
on April 14, 2025

Great product, very easy to use. One exception - AFTER Turbotax reviewed me, said I was done and took me to the point of filing where I could not get back, it suddenly threw me into a raw IRS form screen for mandatory fields involving business expenses - of which neither my wife nor I had any! I had to list something to get off the screen and finish filing - a somewhat disconcerting experience, must be a bug.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo tax only fair
on April 14, 2025

Guidance is inadequate. Did not make it clear how include information from last year's return before I started. Still haven't fixed problem having to list equipment in rental property as an intangible in order to SL depreciation or something that what Turbotax chose. Massachusetts state tax was a horrible experience. Didn't clearly ask if one was a non-resident rather than part year resident. If there was an error extremely difficult to find out how to fix.

Can't file, Can't update.

Changed Rating to One. Message says I can't E-File without updating, via Online window, Update. Can't find that window. Can't find solution in help pages. Found it for Windows, but I'm on a Mac. Hours wasted on this. Now, must go get paper (I live in the country) and print so I can mail. Thanks, Turbo.
Previously, if I closed down Turbo, when I re-opened it provided avenue to update. Now, just opens the return w/o notice of available update.

2024 Turbotax

2024 software didn't seem to flow as easily as in prior years. I still prefer it to doing taxes manually, but had an easier time in prior years.

TurboTax is good but not great yet.

More clarity is needed when TT pulls data from last years filings or when TT asks to pull the data from last years filing to user. Sometimes it is very confusing as to where to get the information from, particularly carryforward rental losses, carry forward foreign tax credit etc.
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments
