TurboTax is second to none!

I initially had a challenge downloading the TurboTax app. Called customer service and Ms. LaAngela was patient and assisted me to download the app. Afterwards, it was easy peasy to follow the instructions by providing the information requested. I have been using TurboTax since 2008 or longer. I prefer to file my own taxes and TurboTax facilitates that process.

TT really fell down this year

Turbo tax was harder to use this year than ever. I didn't like the way it opened and didn't show different returns to work on. I am a Washington resident and we don't have state tax, yet the program said I couldn't
e-file because I didn't file a state tax form. Baloney. And why is a 3rd party designee grayed out and unable to enter the field. There is nothing wrong with having a friend help and be named. Booo Turbo tax. The whole program was difficult to navigate this year.

Generally good but with room for improvement

Turbotax Desktop is better than Turbotax online because it can show the resulting tax forms at intermediate stages of entering your data. Some forms are still difficult to understand. For example, I had trouble entering individual contries for foreign tax credit received on a Schedule K-1. Even with Turbotax support (for an additional fee) it took many hours to enter the data.

Bring back the software on CD

The software is great, but the company is too intrusive into your personal information.
Also, it sucks that you can no longer get the software on a CD-ROM!
