TurboTax Premier is not as good as it used to be

TurboTax (TT) Premier wasn't as good as it used to be in the past couple of decades that I have used it. It's also possible that my tax return this year was slightly more complicated than the last year, but that's where I exactly thought it would help me. Instead, I had to rely on ChatGPT and double-check by going to the IRS or FTB websites - not a good feeling, and it took me more time! First off, TT couldn't find my last year's return although it was there in a different folder in the acceptable PDF format; it was also available in the TT format. Then there were several times where it did not open the right choices at the right times, e.g., I wanted to enter multiple entries for multiple dates manually for the cost basis information from Form 1099-B, but it did not guide me properly. ChatGPT had to show me the way to enter it in TT and how to file it electronically. TT kept on saying I have to send Form 8453 by mail. Finally, I could do everything online, of course! There were few other things during the TT interview that bothered me, too. Rest of the usual things were fine.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

in general, it is good. I have been using them for 15 years.
But the E- filing step is horrible and dumb.

I don't like jumping through hoops. My taxes are simple. I've been using TurboTax for decades. Now you want me to import information from somewhere. The IRS, Intuit? I don't want to sign up for anything extra. Last year I had to subscribe to Intuit. Now I needed to sign up for something else so my document information could be imported. Instead I skipped importing, but extra steps were needed before I got to the "skip import" tab.
I like the way TT works, by asking questions. If you have this, then enter it here--for example. That's all I need.
