Turbo Tax is lax.

Turbo Tax is less robust than in the past. It should have been able to tell I filed by paper in 2023 and the e-file wont recognize this years return because I filed 2023 in January. It is also not answering / giving thorough answers for rental property like it use to. I don't feel the same trust in TT as I have in the past.

Love/Hate Turbo Tax

I love/hate Turbo Tax. I love the ease of some parts of it, but every year, I encounter bugs that make the overall experience frustrating. This year, the software decided to add a 1099-R form even though I had not distribution requiring a 1099-R. Couldn’t find a solution through Turbo Tax and had to seek help on the internet. Other parts were flawed and confusing.

Least frustrating option out there, but not without frustrations. Especially when trying to e-file. I finally gave up after it told me I had an error that would not go away. On a worksheet that didn't even have to be submitted. A field that needed to be blank, that was blank, but they wouldn't accept as blank. shrugs emoji
