Turbotax Makes Tax Filing Less Frustrating!

The program makes the complicated tax filing process easy for a non-tax professional by asking simple questions and allowing the tax program to interpret the necessary section the data belongs to and/or handling the calculation that's needed.

has some bugs

TURBO TAX did not automatically link to my previous years Turbo tax files, although I have been using it for 10 years. I finally located my previous TT files on my computer, and manually loaded the files and it worked. Also, the state tax forms, which were included with my purchase, did not operate. I had to download the state file, but it did not want to work after that, so I just skipped it and went on to file my federal forms.

Pretty good product throughout.
The only problem i encountered was figuring out how to enter information for 1099R's because I took all of my RMD out of one IRA, moved some $ from another IRA for a ROTH addition and pulled no money out of my other IRA at all. I was concerned I wasn't being taxed on all of my RMD but after 3 or 4 redo's I finally figured it out. I tried to get help on chat box but either I didn't explain my problem well enough, or your AI didn't understand what I needed. Probably overall a 4.5 star but made it 5 because everything else was right on.

Doing taxes is ok, getting into the software, not

Constant problem with uploading updates. Time spent and worry over if I can get into the software again. I keep swearing I'll never use Turbo again. Keep getting - Microsoft Installer error 2502. The patch works, but I discovered it has to be re-done each time. Since I do grand kids taxes - I now leave the program open for days so I don't have to go through the upgrades. I don't understand why a big outfit like yours can't fix this.

There is a flaw in the program where it supposed to help me fill out the SSA-1099. It just skip right through it. I have to manually fill it out.
